i am just trying to understand what my choices are.

i have been reinstated for just over 5 yrs and still have not had my privileges back.

i am a single mom and have been to all the meeting that we can, doing our best outside of kids colds and flu's, not to mention car trouble, but i have always turned in my time each month and study reports, but still i can not answer.

Who did you/do you want to be when you grew up?

when i was 9 i wanted to be daisy duke from the dukes of hazzard, but had to put aside the dream when i realised my legs weren't going to ever get any longer.. when i was 12 i wanted to be ghandi, but realised wars wouldnt stop because i missed breakfast.. when i was 16 i decided that by leaving the borg and living fast and hard enough being alice cooper was achievable.. now i'm 32 i think i'd quite like to have the sensuous, striking confidence and certainty of helen mirren when i grow up.. who did you want to be and why?.

About 10 years ago some elder asked that question at the Tualatin KM hall. One kid raised his and and said...

"I want to go to Bethel...

One kid said...

I want to go to Gilead...

One kid raised his hand and said..

I want to pioneer...

Then Johnny raised his hand...The elder said "What do you want to be when you grow up Johnny?"

7 year old Johnny said...."Thuck Driver!"....The hall went crazy....To this day people walk up to this poor kid and say...."Hay thuck driver" and laugh.

So my answer is "Truck Driver!"

What is so crazy is I would have said the same thing to my wife 30 years ago....

But I wish now, she still would have said....

Some times it takes time for the seeds to grow....so give him some time.

The strangest looking (and acting) nut jobs you have ever seen at the KH!

there are so many after after 52 years in the "borg".. my top two would have to be at my last hall tigard oregon.. one lady slept in her pickup truck with 30 parakeets, sometimes in the kh parking lot.

people tried to help her with accommodations but she like the truck.

she really dressed up for the meetings......feather boa's, big hats, looked like may west from the 30's.

I forgot to tell you about a German sister in the Inwood N.Y. Congo.I studied with her son. There was this big oil painting of her father in an SS uniform from the war in her house. What made her so nuts is she would take her field service slip and walk it around the KH and show the elders and the Bethelites her report....she would say "So Brother Casarona you see I got 29 hours 15 back calls 75 mags...."

What could be more fun then people "earning" their way into the new system...and telling others about it?

My Bethel Experience Part 14

my strange bethel courtship started with me trying to meet mike stillman's sister, even though he worked in the ink room next to my elevavator, we were not good friends, he was just a little to "country" for me........and on the righeous side too.

they say "there is nothing more dangerious in combat then a new guy with a map!

".........and there was nothing more dangerious at bethel then a self righteous new boy.. anyway one beautiful saturday morning, in 1972, we were walking to the factory, mike happen to be walking with me, and he happen to say "god........i would give anything to get out of this city on a day like today"..........i said "well....... i have a car and no place to go.........you have a place to go and no car"...he wasn't quite sure of me, but.............next thing i knew, it's him and me and 4 of his nerdy friends driving to rhode island.. needless to say, it was a great weekend and debbie who had just turned 19 was happy that her brother finally brought someone home with him, who wasn't a nerd like his other friends.
